PROJECT
Francis Douglas Memorial College have plans in place to build a significant, flagship project at the heart of our school.
This multi-purpose building is a large-scale and leading-edge facility that will provide our school community with a state-of-the-art sporting and performance venue, inspiring current and future students in their fields of interest.
Spaces within will allow groups to gather and learn in dynamic ways, with flexible learning able to take place and a vast array of uses throughout the school day and beyond.
As we look to the future, we recognise the importance of being able to host school functions, sporting and cultural events for our students, their parents/caregivers and our wider school community.

FAQ’s
How will this project benefit the school?
This new and vital facility will provide current and future students and staff with much needed, high quality, future focussed, and collaborative learning spaces. This new space is essential for improved learning experiences and outcomes, it will also provide our school with a central hub that champions school spirit and strengthens relationships with local hapü and iwi.
How will this project benefit the community?
As a school, we recognise the value that we gain from connection outside our school gate, and are mindful of the positive and long-lasting impact for our community when we share spaces and experiences together. Connection and building relationships are central to our philosophy and education provision. Our school was built by the community and therefore the next stage is a community project also. As well as providing for our school roll, it is our vision this facility is shared with whanau and community. There are not too many places in the city that can host 900+ people, and this state of the art facility will be a place to gather, participate and connect for many within the school and our wider neighbourhood, city and beyond.
